Migration as a Driver of Economic Development. Cooperation Policies and Strategies between Origin and Destination Countries.

ICID, in collaboration with Università degli Studi di Milano Bicocca, Università degli Studi di Milano, and Centro Studi Luca d'Agliano, organizes a one-day workshop on the links between migration and development, and the crucial role of policies and strategies linking origin and destination countries.

Migration flows are a ‘bridge’ across different societies and create tangible links between origin and destination countries. Active economic development policies can influence the deep-rooted causes of migration and expand the opportunities generated by international migrants in countries of destination. This calls for a long-term global vision of immigration along with an effective cooperation strategy with countries of origin.
